  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Squishy Tummy

Hi, Have been trying to cut back baileys pellet intake as shes lookin abit chubby at the min, thing is she eats all her pellets straight away and has none left for the afternoon and evening so today i gave her 2 big hand fulls of dandelion leaves which shes always been fine with and a load of grass aswell, when i picked her up about half hour ago i noticed her tummy is really soft and squidgey which usually means stasis or an upset with her as her tumms always quite firm and tight, she doesnt seem to be in any pain and ive given her some more pellets which shes eaten straight up, im not sure if its trapped gas or what though but im worried to put her to bed and have it start hurting her in the night....

Just gave her a little belly rub and i think it is gassy as i could feel a bubble and a rumble, i dont have any infacol ether :? she is hopping around fine and just ate some more pellets to...

 oh no ive just noticed aswell on closer inspection when bailey was laying down she has what i think is urine scold on the insides of her leg just above her foot... why do these things always come at once
