Awwww, I LOVE kakarikis! I used to have one who only had one foot - can't remember why now (I was a lot younger) - he was called Stumpy! Then I had another one called Flumpy (can you see the common sound here?!). Think my dad has a couple left but they're old and scruffy, bless them.
They can be so tame though - Flumpy used to sit on my head!

Thought you might be interested in this place which I was lucky enough to visit couple of years ago. It was amazing standing in a huge aviary with the kakariki who make up the species recovery program coming & landing on me as I fed them. Certainly a magic moment.
