New Kit
my bunny max has recently had one of his back legs amputated due to a bad infection. all went well and am now trying to introduce him back to other rabbit pepsi, they used to be good together yet no pepsi is mounting max coninuly and grunting and stomping his back foot, any advice on how to get these two to become friends again. any help would be appriated.

They are both boys? Both neutered?

I would treat it as if they were new rabbits. It sounds like Pepsi has forgotten Max while he was away and is trying to establish dominance again. He might be being territorial about his hutch too, since Max has been away. You need to bond them in a small, neutral pen or cage. Humping and chasing is ok, but not fighting.

There is lots of good bonding advice on this forum. Here are some links I also found useful:

I re-bonded our two males using mesh cubes, so I could put a panel between them overnight and not worry about fighting. It's really important that the pen/cage is neutral - if Pepsi thinks he 'owns' it, he will not accept Max in it.

Taking them for a car ride in a box is a good way to start bonding - it stresses the rabbits and makes them huddle together for comfort.
