Neutering a male

What exactly is the procedure? Are the testicles removed completely or is it just a case of snipping a couple of tubes?

Is there anything else involved?

Nope testicles are removed. For the girls they don't have a uterus but instead two uterine horns. Everything is removed - ovaries plus uterine horns.

Thanks guys! So this means no chance of testicular or uterine cancer then?

Usually, provided there has not been any metastatic activity before hand which is unlikely if done early. You can get tissue left behind if the Op's are not performed correctly and a degree of regrowth of hormonally secreting tissue but this is rare, and normally just applies to spays. Generally speaking once they are done you have ruled out all cancers. :D
