URGENT vibes please!!! Bad leg break :U/D- SHE CAME THROUGH!!!!

Jemma&Theo

Mama Doe
8pm on Tuesday Night, we were cleaning the bunnies out and let noodle have a run on the grass. She jumped down off the run (2ft) which she always does, ran a meter or two... did a HUUUUUUGEEEE binky- but landed funny and immediately tried to chew her leg and fell over....

I saw she was limping (right hind leg). Rang vets who said would be £100 out of hours. Spoke to my mom who said she probably just sprained it. She is fit as a fiddle and only 6 months old so I didnt expect her to have damaged herself.

Gave her some metacam which I had in and put her in tiny cage overnight but she was eating loads as usual and apart from carrying her leg- she was her usual self.

Wednesday we took her to the vet who said it looked dislocated but we would need an xray so we booked an Xray for this morning (Thursday)

Got a call at 2pm  they said it was dislocated but also broken, and there were little bits of bone about so they wouldnt plaster / splint. Amputation or PTS was only option. :(:(
Vet gave me 45 minutes to decide before it was too late to book the surgery

I came on here- looked up amputation and saw a few people with successful amputees. So we chose that.

She has the op tomorrow. So scared. Would hate her to die. Her sister twiglet misses her so much.

Op is costing £650 :shock: so far with the Xrays we barely had the money but have to take the chance on her. She is worth it.

Please send vibes. I dont know what we will do if she doesnt make it.

Any experience of amputees would be appreciated.

Its my birthday tomorrow too, all I want is for her to pull through......

Please send love to her

x x :(:(:(

Oh. My. GOD

Poor you, I'm so sorry this has happened, you are one fantastic bunny owner and I'm so pleased that she's going to have a chance to survive.

Sending massive vibes and love for you tomorrow:love::love::love:

Goodness, that's awful! Poor Noodle :( Huge vibes for her, Hope the op goes well. We will be thinking of you.

No experience of amputation myself, but like you have read several cases on here where it has been successful and the buns cope very well on 3 legs - hopefully Noodle will be another one of these cases :) xxx

Thank you all so much.......I just didnt expect a 6month old to break her leg binkying..........

Binkies are BAD!

Never lost a bun until now. So worried for her.... Just wish I had her insured as the vet said there was a specialist who may be able to try to save the leg but it would mount up into thousands and may not work. :(

ohh nooo she must have just landed funny - poor girl. Shows how fragile they are really.

Its great your giving her a chance and I hope you get the birthday present you are wishing for most x

I have had a hind leg amputee - and another bun who had to have an internal plate and 26 screws in his broken leg (cost thousands) - PM me if you want!

:( oh how awful. mind you the folks whove told the tale of how their buns broke their backs binkying...these little furbabies obviously do more damage than we realise:shock:

hope someone else here can help you.

meanwhile sendingloads of vibes nosey rubs and hugs xx

Oh I'm so sorry and I'm sending Noodle's lots of healing Vibes for her Op tomorrow and I hope your Birthday wish comes true.

I'm sorry to hear about Noodle :( and fingers crossed you have a Happy Birthday with all your wishes coming true-glad you have given her a chance.-sue x

Oh poor little Noodle :( Bunnies are so fragile aren't they. A friend had a baby rabbit who needed to have his back leg removed years ago after skidding on the kitchen floor and catching it on the corner of the units and he was fine. Good luck with the op

Poor Noodle. :(:( I hope everything goes ok.:love:

When Alfie hurt his leg, we were facing possible amputation and several people shared their experiences with amputee buns and it was all good news, so Noodle should do fine. :D:D:D

Sending loads of vibes for noodles. Elwood had his leg amputated last year and if he can cope with all his other problems I am sure Noodle can :)
