  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Good vet in middlesbrough?

My new bun seems to have a problem with her back legs, there is often a 'cracking' noise when she is running around, and she is occasionally making a little sqeaking noise as she runs (not that this is stopping her from charging about and binkying) My vet said she can't find a problem. Any ideas or suggestions of a good rabbit vet in the area?

I was told she is 3, I believe nethie cross. I have rang the previous owner who said she has never noticed anything, I was planning on getting her neutered next week but wondering if to hold off until I'm more sure about the legs.

She is absolutely gorgeous! I know Steph182 is from Middlesbrough, you could try PMing her to ask who she uses? There are some good vets up here but it might be a bit of a trek for you

I agree you should hold off especially if you aren't 100% confident in your vet. The stress of the neuter could make her legs worse, and a spay should only be done by a vet you trust!

Hope its nothing too serious, I wonder if it could be arthritis? I really have no idea though, sorry :(
