Syringe/needle question...

Does anyone know what size needles are used for bunnies? I'm on the VetUK website and I'm all confused! :roll: http://www.vetuk.co.uk/veterinary-i...podermic-sterile-vet-needles-outer-box-p-2047 (I know this page is just needles and no syringes just incase anyone points it out! ).

In case anyone was wondering... My friends Dad gets myxi vaccine when he goes over to France and does their bunnies himself shock. Apperently the bottle only comes with one needle which he uses for all of their rabbits so I was going to suggest they get some more online. I know bunnies aren't likely to have anything like AIDS or whatever but I was a bit worried for them when she told me.

Is he doing the vaccination correctly-ie 10% of it into the dermis ??????????????


I use Orange top 25g x 5/8 Inch needles for vaccinations.

I think my face must have gone :shock: when she told me too as she was quite worried it wasn't ok after she'd told me. Hence why I'm looking up needle sizes for her. I *think* they only have two rabbits but even so, I don't think they should be sharing a needle.

I don't know if her Dad knows the correct way to do it but she says he's been vaccinating her bunnies since she was a little girl (she's now 25) so I guess whatever he's doing works. :|

Yep, the Terumo ones are the ones I use- they are cheaper from here:

They fit all 1ml syringes that I have ever used.
