  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Am I correct in thinking this is too much SS??? or too much grub in general??
Thanks for replies.xxxx

Do you mean the Ceacals?
If so then yes it is due to an imbalance, try cutting down on pellets and veg, pushing the hay and it should righten.

Could be either too many pellets or too much greens. Try cutting back both for a bit and see how it goes.

Is the bun in question having alot of grass at the moment? Spring grass is very rich and can cause excess caecopoops as it did in my bun. Stick to just hay for a few days and it should calm down :D

Thanks!!! My Lily has several health issues....lost lots of weight when I bonded her and so Ive separated them and shes putting the weight back on but I think I may give her too many pellets.Always hay....greens every other day....pellets am and pm.Just a very small handful both times....:oops: but she literally shouts in the mornings and runs round her bowl, looks in,looks at me, looks at the bowl, runs round.....
I know for sure im in the wrong.Need to correct myself. The other 3 are ok.Just get one lot of pellets, always hay and green every other day...and the garden too!! Lily stays indoors.

Maybe try cutting down on the pellets then. Mine get an egg cup a day each and do fine on it, although like to pretend theyre starving  They can be such beggars and make you feel auwful can't they the little monsters!
