Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Bunny with pea size 'lumps' near mouth

Hello all, how are we? Havent been on here for a while.

I was stroking my bunny yesterday and i noticed some lumps under my bunnys chin, well in her whiskers! Not sure what they are but they feel like the size of peas! Anyone help?

Hard to say really are the lumps along the jaw line? if so this could indicate teeth issues, however it may just be the whisker bed!?!

are eating, drinking and pooping normal? If so, then that's a great sign, but I'd pop her in for a check-up if it were me.

I really would not delay tbh, if it is new then it could protentially be something that is not going to take long to progress. You do not want it to get more serious by waiting.

I would take her to the vets asap. Most vets will have a evening apps, ours will stay open to 7.30 on most nights.

It could be a number of things including abcess, infected hair folicule, cysts tooth spurs, nodular mixi (which they can get even if vaccinated), cancer & possibly the start of syphilis. Mixi and jaw absesses are very serious and treatment would be needed to be started asap. I would be looking at getting her in today.
