Does tough skin mean an old rabbit?

MPHF

Alpha Buck
Yesterday we were at the vets with Floppy for her weekly Convenia injection for her abscess caused by tooth root problems. It was one with the nurse and she said that Floppy had tough skin. We are not to sure of her age but we think she is about 6ish.
Could tough skin mean she is older than we think she is?

It may be that her skin has thickened as a result of repeated injections.

A Rabbit's skin does tend to toughen with age, especially neutered Bucks.

It would be very easy for her to be older than you think because of where she came from (especially given that one set of her records said 10 months and the other said 4 years ).

I don't think it's possible to age a rabbit by it's skin thickness, but in general un-neutered or late neutered males will have much tougher skin than young rabbits or females.

And as Jane said, repeated injections will make the skin tough.
