  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Teeth overlapping?

Helllo, I have a little lionhead girlie and shes about 12 weeks old, I've just noticed her teeth look a little odd compared to my other rabbit, 6 months old netherland dwarf. One of the top incisors seems to be overlapping the other, not by much just slightly.
I've googled and googled! but cant seem to find anything that explains what might be happening and if its going to become a major problem or not.
Im taking my boy to have his plums removed on tuesday and im going to take her as well to see what they say but im very paranoid now and was just hoping some might have some idea what it might be and if its going to bother her :(

Hi, just a quick one, have to get my children from school. Look up Malocclusion or misaligned teeth in rabbits. On here they are usually called "Dental Buns"

The vet can treat it, with various different operations. My Feegal has it and he is three years old, and I love him!

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
