Calling anyone with Richard Saunders' 'notes on rabbit internal medicine book'...

Santa

Wise Old Thumper
...I've either lost my copy or lent it to someone and forgotten :( I haven't seen it since we moved house nearly 3 years ago.

Can someone have a look in it for me please and see if it has anything about chlorpheniramine maleate (it's an antihistamine - the active ingredient in piriton) in it? The FHB book does, but as this book is newer I'm wondering if it has more up-to-date info/dose rates.

Thanks :)

Thanks for looking :) My vet has asked me to try and nobble him at the conference and ask him then  He was lovely last year and was happy to chat so I just need to try and find him this time :)

Hope you'll update us on the Lectures...........pwetty please !!

Hope Santa's coping as well as she can with her snuffles xx

Yeah she's not toooo bad ta but she is still having a lot of sneezy fits. Antibiotics are doing absolutely nothing, so we've decided to go off at a tangent and try antihistamine as there has been evidence of eosinophils before so it's not totally off the wall.

The problem has been that my vet just can't find any tangible literature to support their use in rabbits...by complete chance I stumbled across a reference in a 'safe drugs' table in the FHB book so we're going to give it a go, but given her long-term history we don't think there's any harm waiting until after the conference in case I get a chance to nobble Richard or one of the others and ask some more questions.

Of course we'll update you on our return - will also be interesting to compare and contrast with Vikkivet to see if the streams differed much :)

Stalker!! :p

Seriously, good luck with it, and I hope you get some answers. I bet Simone is dying to learn more about it.

I bet she's sick to the back teeth of getting messages to ring me

Seriously though, I'm happy. I'm happy that she's prepared to listen to my random suggestions but still want to do her own research, admit that she doesn't know (where applicable), go off licence where it seems relevant and ask me to stalk random exotics specialists when necessary

Oh I was rather hoping I could give you another list of questions to corner someone else with

He chatted to us happily enough over a tea break last year didn't he? With a bit of luck we can collar him the night before, lucky chap

Ladies out on the town for a night away from their partners...not on the pull, but seeking to find people who know stuff about rabbits
