Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Nottingham Area - Any Vets Recommended for Spaying

Jane Rooms

Young Bun
Just wondered if anyone could recommend a Vets in the Nottingham area? We live in Beeston and have a rabbit that needs spaying and injections, have phoned a few who say they have performed spaying before but if you had any recommendations that would be very helpful, any information on the cost you have would be gratefully received too.

Thanks !

i use mapperley vets for pets £70 again for a spay.

I use a good vets in Beeston for my cats, Churchcroft. The vet there, Philip was really nice and sympathetic when my cat Molly was ill, i was there almost once every 2 weeks when she was really ill so got to know him pretty well. The only reason i don't take the bunnies there is because Ruby doesn't do well on long car journeys and Beeston is quite a drive for me. If i can get her used to the car though i would definitely think of going there. Philip is very helpful and actually seems to care about the animals. He has another vet there too now who is equally as nice.

Not sure about their experience with rabbits though, but i have seen the odd few in the waiting room.

I use Ark in Chilwell for my 5 bunnies but I will only see Lizette. She was really good with my dental bun Willow and would do his molar spurs without GA. They are a bit more expensive than Vets4Pets in Bulwell where my parents take their buns to though. Myxi at Ark is £22 but at Vets4Pets it's £16. Can't remember how much a spay is though.

I'm a bit further away (Lincoln) but just thought it would give you a wider choice of cost etc.

I've just had both my buns neutered at Ark today. It was £70.01 for a spay and £50 for a castrate. I have been to Ark for years with my dog but this is the first time I have taken a rabbit. :) It is Lizette we see too.

Lizette is really good. I always see her cause she's really bunny savvy. She was great with my dental bunny.
