Lottie needs heaps of vibes..

Sparkle x

Wise Old Thumper
Lottie began rolling this afternoon and after that came the head tilt, she cant walk straight, she just circles and when she goes try move she falls to one side.

I rang the Vets and they told me to take her straight in.

They said she has EC, they gave her 5injections, including a pain killer.

I am to start her and Albie on Panacur and to return in the morning to see if there is any improvement.

I am absolutely devasted, it happened within 2mins. I cant bare to look at her, she just looks so sad :( :(

Sorry its rushed i cant think straight

what do i do Jane?

the vet said everything is stacked against her. we have done everything possible and its down to her

It is way to soon to give up !!

She can recover, it may take months or treatment and care and she may have numerous rolling episodes.

Have a read through Denise's thread about her Bun Wilson:

Also Gemma is having the exact same battle over in France with her Bun Mimi

Jane's right Nat - Lottie can recover from this :)

I know it's easier said than done to keep positive, but I really did find that was key to caring for Wilson & the support I got from the guys on here :) They were an absolute godsend hun & kept me sane, when I thought I couldn't cope.

If you want to chat further about Lottie, let me know & I can pm you my numbers.

Warning though when reading Wilson's thread - it is a VERY long thread

Lots & lots of vibes for her to beat this - buns can & do recover from this & I'm praying that Lottie will too xxx

Thanks to you all. Lottie remains very withdrawn tonight. She is turning her nose up at food, which really isnt like her. I tried to syringe feed but its so difficult, it ends up stressing her out :( Also noticed she isnt hopping anymore, she is dragging herself :(

Yes Jane she was given an anti biotic, i cant find my receipt so cant get the name. I know she was given Metacam, Baytril and the gut stimulant one, begins with a M?

Will have a read through the threads now..

Got your pm:cry:
Poor Lottie, but everyone is right don't give up on her yet
KateB has Brownie with EC and she has started to improve thanks to the meds and Kate and Colin's tremendous effort and care..not all survive it but don't let the vet give up on her too soon

Aswell as keeping her on Panacur she must have a long course of baytril and Metacam..get some probiotic to add to her water..Avipro works out cheapest
Also keep her and Albie somewhere you can cover area with very soft bedding..towels are good and avoid long stranded hay at present.
When a bun is rolling they can break their legs or back on hard surfaces, they can also get hay tangled tightly around their legs or neck..so she needs a padded area..ask friends and family for old towels
You may have to syringe her some food for first few days..but keep going..she stands a good chance of recovery with the right meds and support
Thinking of you and Lottie xxxxxx

I am so sorry Natalie - Lottie is an adorable bunny and I am so sad about this.

I wish I could be there with you - even if it was just to make cups of tea and help - you know I am thinking of you and Lottle - (and Albie).

All my love x x x

Nat is at the vets again now with Lottie, im so worried :cry: Poor Lottie

Sending you all the vibes in the world hunni, i hope Lottie can come through this (((hugs))) xxx

Lots and lots of vibes for Lottie xxx
as everyone has said she can recover from this [although may be left with a slight tilt] however its a long road to recovery [very often 1 step forwards 2 backwards] When my parents foster bun had it, the vet offered to PTS at the first appointment, they refused as they wanted to give her every chance, they also had to insist on anti -inflammatories and dad bought some more panacur [from vetuk] as the vet only gave them enough for about a week.I'm sure its still 6 week course for active EC
sending lots of vibes for Lottie and you xx

Lots of vibes for lottie
