Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Help... strange urine

New Kit
Hello I am looking for some advice

My female bunny Poppy has recently started to produce a funny coloured (milky coffee colour) stained urine. I have stopped feeding her any veg as an attempt to figure out what is causing this however it hasnt made a difference.

Poppy is only 8months old.

Any suggestions?

Thanks gemma

Thank you for your suggestions.
I was unsure whether she needed to go to the vet.... just for piece of mind I think I will take her anyway

Would be good to know if anyone else has experienced this first hand

Yes, my 5 year old rabbit gets this.
Avoiding high calcium veg as found on the diet section of the forum helps most rabbits.
The issue with my rabbit is that he hardly drinks water, has a sluggish gut & dental problems. When I manage to get him to drink more his urine is clear.
