How Far Do You Travel For Your Vets?

Hiya

Just wondered how far you all travel to get to your vets?

If Mitzy comes back, I'm quite fancying a vet that's a 20-30 min drive away, they seem very good, quite reasonable ....... more importantly they come highly recommended from someone who took their bunnies there for years.

If you have pet insurance and there's a big bill to pay, they only ask for the excess and then claim the rest direct from the insurer.

They have a bunny specialist and an on call duty vet.

I'm thinking all of the above is worth a 30 min drive for .. but will it freak bunny out too much!?!

How far do you drive?

Thanks Jo x

If I have to go to the furthest away branch of my vets it's 20 - 25 mins, the closest of the branch is 5 mins. If my fave vet is doing shifts at the furthest away surgery and not the local one I will happily travel to her.

mine is 20-30 minutes by bus or metro, and there's the bumpy walk to the bus stop or metro station, much more traumatising than car but I think its worth it :) vet care is one of those things I think its worth travelling for. There's a vet around the corner from me but they know absolutely nothing about small animals, didnt even know you can neuter rabbits  so would NEVER go there

Mine is 20-30 mins away for the regular vet. Badger is under a different vet for his 'issues' and for that we travelled nearly an hour away. As for how the bunny will tolerate it, that depends on the bunny, but I have found that for mine personally, the cooler the car, the better they travel.

Ours is about a 2 minute walk, if that. I can see the surgery from the bunny room window, so if any are kept in over night I always wave and shout goodnight to them

my bunny Uncle needs regular trips to FHB. 84 miles eachway:shock: On a motorway full of roadworks:evil:
Up to now hes had about 16 visits, then i have the extra trips to collect him after overnight stays.
My "other vet is 10mins away:)

15-20 minutes away. It's far but doesn't take ages to get too as it's all motorway and a motorway which doesn't often have traffic problems.

Its 50 miles to my nearest vet in one direction, and about 55 in the other direction to the other vet. To get to a bunny savvy vet its well over 100 miles.

I do a 15minute drive each way.

I have a vets straight across the road from me, but its terrible!!

5 minute walk for the one I originally went to. However, Leo is currently at a fantastic one which is about a 15/20minute drive away and I'm thinking of constantly going there now.
