He's had a major relapse of the gut problem he had about 3 weeks ago

He is back on treatment but he's not responding. The 'abnormality' in his intestines which was detected on abdominal Xray is now bigger and harder

I am fearing the worst now

02-05-2010, 05:12 PM
Oh no!! I was hoping no news was good news hope he can at least be comfortable x

02-05-2010, 05:14 PM
Oh dear

Hope that Little Bill has the strength to pull through his problem again. x

Now Stanley is in Respiratory Distress

He is already on Depocillin and I have just given him a shot of steroid (C gave me an emergency supply as we knew that eventually this would happen )

Why do my Buns never get sick one at a time

I am so sorry to hear this - he was doing SO well!

03-05-2010, 11:14 AM
Oh no! Sending huge vibes your way Jane x x x

03-05-2010, 11:41 AM
Stanley is now mouth breathing intermittently
I was up most of the night with him, he was so wheezy
At the moment he is asleep and he has been eating quite well. Although that is probably a side effect of the steroid. If his breathing remains unchanged by tomorrow I will have to let Stanley go

Little Bill is doing better within himself now. But the mass in his intestines remains the same. So he too will be back at the Vets tomorrow, I dont think we have any options other than high risk surgery now  Given that Little Bill does not cope at all well with 'hands on care' I am not sure I can subject him to surgery. So I may have to let him go too

Just to add to all this I had an attempted break-in here last night. Needless to say my MH 'issues' are not good today

03-05-2010, 11:43 AM
:cry::cry::cry: im sorry its not looking good Jane xxxx

So sorry to hear they are both so unwell :cry::cry: They have the best chance of recovery with your expert case.

Sorry to hear about the attempted break-in, last thing you needed was to feel at threat

03-05-2010, 11:45 AM
Oh Jane - so sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Sending oodles more love, hugs and healing vibes to you all.

03-05-2010, 11:54 AM
Oh Jane I'm so sorry :(

Poor Stanley and poor Little Bill  Hoping for a miracle for both of them.

Have you spoken to the police since the attempted break in? That's just the last thing you need at the moment.

Sending hugs to you and vibes to the bunnies. xx

03-05-2010, 12:47 PM
Thinking of you all xx

03-05-2010, 03:12 PM
I am pretty certain that I will be letting Stanley go tomorrow
Whilst he is still eating his breathing is dreadful and he's already on every possible medication

03-05-2010, 03:15 PM
Sending lots of vibes for all three of you xxx

03-05-2010, 03:27 PM

03-05-2010, 04:01 PM
:cry::cry: so sorry to hear this...

03-05-2010, 04:22 PM
Stanley had a shot of diuretic a couple of hours ago and it has really helped :)
He is not mouth breathing at all atm and he is looking alot more comfortable.

03-05-2010, 06:11 PM
Stanley is like a different Bunny now all the fluid has been shifted from his lungs :) I know he's not cured, he has a chronic pneumonia  But he is so much more comfortable now. It looks as though we will do the same as we did with the late Sarah. She managed another 11 months of good quality life on treatment for chronic pneumonia.

Little Bill is eating again now and pooing OK too. But still the mass remains.......... :?

03-05-2010, 06:12 PM
Sending vibes xxx ( I hate pneumonia  )

04-05-2010, 09:49 AM
how are they this morning?

04-05-2010, 11:44 AM
how are they this morning?

The diuretic gave him about 16 hours relief. He became very 'whistley' again at about 830am so I gave him another shot of Frusemide and within about 45 mins he was much, much better :)

He's eating very well and now he is able to get a better oxygen intake he is generally happier. Obviously his lungs are knackered and he's on borrowed time now  But having gone through this before with Sarah I know what to expect really..................

Little Bill is OK within himself and we'll be seeing C some time this week.
