  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Ok so bailey is 10 months now, i still havent had her spayed due to finding out she has teeth problems so im waiting for her next dental to set a date... shes always been a bit of a nipper if you go in to her terriotory (under the bed), but the last 6 weeks she been getting really aggresive somtimes, i seem to contantley have ether at least one bite or scratch on my hands and wrists, the thing is its not all the time, most of the time shes happy to sit on my lap and fall asleep so i dont think its so much an issue with me, i keep putting it down to her not being spayed, but im starting to get worred shes just aggresive...
She even bit my mum today 3 times and drew blood
anyone got any advice at all...
thanks xxx

It may be hormonal but it may be that her teeth are causing her some discomfort now and making you grumpy at times.

If she has not had a recent Vet check, especially re her teeth, then I'd arrange that and discuss getting her spayed too :)
