Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Any Ideas? What could be wrong?

Young Bun
Hi

I was just playing on the xbox, lights off and pancakes was sitting in his cage minding his own business. All of a sudden I heard a very loud spraying noise. As I've never heard that type of noise before coming from over by Pancakes, I turned the lights on and found him sitting on his tray but some type of liquid all in one corner, its hard to explain but here's a pic...

It wasn't as bright as that picture makes out, more like a weak tea colour. There doesn't appear to be any real smell to it either.

Anyone got any ideas what it is? He's not had any different foods this week but was out in the garden this afternoon but didn't see him eating anything as most the time he spent on the garden table (long story lol).

Am I worrying about nothing here? He's about 10months old, up-to-date with his jabs and hasn't been snipped yet. Just hate that I can't do anything for a few more hours :(

He urinated

Rabbit wee can be a creamy colour due to their calcium metabolism. As long as the wee does not feel gritty when you run a finger through it then its perfectly normal.

The splashing you hear was the urine.

Thanks for the reply. Would there be any normal reason why it was so much at once though?

  :lol::lol: I try to stay away from the wee! (and it's been a long while since we had any accidents.) I'll keep it in mind though, if I notice creamy wee.:)
