  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Making a Nest

Maddy-Hazel

Warren Scout
Hazel has started to make a nest of her fur in the corner of her cage. It's impossible for her to be pregnant, as I've had her for over 8 months and she hasn't been in contact with any other rabbits in this time. Should I worry? She seem normal, though she grunted at me when I first picked her up out of the cage to see what she was up to. She has a bald spot on her chest from pulling but the skin isn't torn or anything. Could it be that the room is too chilly for her? It's pretty average in the house as far as temperature, but my fiance sometimes has the fan on if it get's too warm for him. She's eating and pooping and all that. The fiance has himself convinced that she knows she's getting spayed so she prepped herself for surgery:lol:

Ok, glad I don't have to worry. She's in to get spayed on Earth Day (22nd) at 8 in the :censored: morning. The fiance is beside himself with worry, even though I've told him she will be fine. He really has fallen in love with our little fuzz ball.
