Bald Patch

New Kit
Hi All,

We've had Paddy since December last year, he's always had a big patch of fur under his chin but we've checked it before and there's never been ant signs of any problems. But today I've noticed a red bald patch there. These are my first bunnies and not entirely sure how bad or not so bad it is. I've attached a picture (it's the best we could manage!) , in your opinions, am I OK to wait until the vet opens again on Tuesday or does it need urgent attention??

Any advice greatly appreciated. He is also moulting alot now, I only have to pick him up for 5 seconds and I'm white all over. Could it be to do with this?

Thanks in advance!

It could be a number of things really, diet changes, excessive chin rubbing, or even infected scent glands.
One of my buns had a patch under his chin when he was in a heavy moult and i put it down to stress as some bunnies can become very stressed when moulting.

Thanks for your advice. I've got him booked in at the vets next week for one of his jabs, is it OK to wait until then for the vet to have a look at him or dos it need checking sooner?

He will be ok till then if he is not drooling or wet round his mouth. Good luck at the vet's with him.
