  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi, I am really hoping this is nothing to worry about but want to ask forum members whether it is normal or bad that when Fay eats her dinner her bottom twitches?

You can see it and when you touch her bottom when she is eating you can feel it too

Is it anthing to worry about? Or normal?

Its been like that for a while, I hope to goodness it doesnt mean anything bad or that she has been in pain...I wouldnt forgive myself. Hubby says I am paranoid, but I just want to make sure all my buns are ok

Helen x

ETA: None of my other buns do it so I dont think its normal...but then again it doesnt seem to give her any problems...I dont know....someone tell me I am paranoid (as if I dont already know!!)

I edited in the link after, so guess it went in between you looking and then pressing quote. Fine timing on my part to add such confusion to the mix.

Hope that helped you feel a bit better :)

I've just noticed Nora and Walter do this if they have a nice ripe banana. I like my bananas green so there's not usually a ripe one for them to try, but I found one in the bottom of my bag and my OH gave it to them and they went mental

They go around a lick the floor where the banana was too to make sure they've got every last little bit

My girl rabbit Cleo does this when she gets a treat, the boy bun Rio actually waggles his tail as well with excitement.:)
