  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Worried about Squidgy u/d Sat am saying goodbye

Wise Old Thumper
He's not been well for a while and is now on permanent metacam. He's basically an old bunny and has been doing really well, but we know he has an ominous lump on his shoulder and a tender tummy, as well as arthritis.
He's been doing amazingly well, eating up his food and still enjoying his sunbeams etc.
Tonight it was almost like he lost control of his body, but I'm not sure if it was a fit? He was jumping sideways and running around in funny directions and bumped into a couple of things.
I managed to calm him down, stroking his head, but I'm a little concerned and just asking for vibes for my precious little boy.
Thanks.

Thank you everyone. He's not eating, so he'll be at the vet's this evening.

Thanks everyone  He's such a brave bun and has been such a fighter, but he has so many problems now it's up to him really if he wants to carry on or not.
Our vet is amazing so I'm sure she'll do what she can.
I wuvs him so very much

He now only weighs 890grammes and the vet has said she's happy to treat him today (metoclop etc) but will see him tomorrow and if there's no improvement, we'll have to say goodbye to him.
We're hoping for an improvement witht the drugs, but I suspect that all of his health problems have just become too much for him. He's been with me over 8 years and we don't know how old he was when he came to me, so he's definitely an OAB (old age bun) with no incisors, wobbly claws and arthritis!
Keep the vibes coming please.

Thanks Jane. We're giving him every chance. He's just chilling out now in his basket. I'll upload the pics later.
