Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Nebulising Questions- Nebulising Bisolvon Q added

Sky-O

Wise Old Thumper
Just a couple-

How long will it take to notice a potential improvement?

Would I see after one treatment or does it take more?

I have been told to use F10SC, but also wondered about something in the meantime, like Bisolvon? Which one of those would I use? And I'm guessing I can buy that from a human pharmacy?

Thanks in advance. This is all very new to me.

With nebulising improvement can be quite rapid immediately after treatment. But often the congestion builds up again and so regular sessions tend to be required.

F10 is a disinfectant and Bisolvon a mucolytic. So they both have different actions. Bisolvon is a POM so you would need to obtain it from your Vet.

You can buy F10 online

You could use a sterile saline solution to nebulise until you can get the F10. The Bisolvon could also be given, its a powder a pinch of which can be mixed with food.

Thanks Jane.

I've got Bisolvon now. He's been having F10SC nebulises and is doing well. I discussed nebulising the Bisolvon into him (as I have read others on here have done- I think maybe Kris with Autumn?) and he said it could benefit either on food or nebulised but he feels it may give more benefits through nebulisation- but only if I can find out how to do it because it's not something he has done before.

So, does anyone know how much of the Bisolvon I use to how much saline?
