  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Wish Tilly luck!

Young Bun
Going to the Vets in a minute because I've just seen that my littlest bun Tilly isn't using her back foot, just holding it up in the air and using the others. :(

Very very worried about her, she is so little :(

Please keep your fingers crossed for us that its not broken :(

Been to the vet for poor Tilly :(

Apparently she is a mystery rabbit - the vet checked really thoroughly for dislocation, breaks, wounds and swelling and there is nothing on her knee, foot, ankle, hip, she even checked her stomach for any signs of injury. But she agreed there is definately something wrong, as the limp is really bad and she is holding it at a funny, turned out angle.

The vet said to keep her quiet, and gave me some Metacam to the pain (which doesn't actual seem to be that bad - she is still hopping about, being affectionate and not sat around being miserable), and in case there is some inflammation that she can't see, and if she is better in a week, if not, then we'll do an x-ray.

Any one have any other ideas, or experiences this before?
