  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Allowing outside buns indoors

Hi All

I have a question - Just after some opinions really :) Wasn't sure where to post so hope this is the right section
Cookie and Milo live outside all year round (In a shed with a run attached), however when I get in from work I open the front of the shed too, so they can free range in the garden while I'm the house. Last summer we used to leave the patio door open so they could run in and out of the house too. Needless to say, all winter they've been sat with their noses pressed up against the patio door giving me begging looks, as they love running round/flopping in the living/dining room. I haven't allowed them to come inside (Apart from vets visits etc) when it's been cold, as I didn't want them to have too many changes of temperature (And didn't want to leave the door open to the cold!).

Do you think it's warmed up enough now to let them come in and out of the house again? I'm happy to leave the door open for them - I know they'll come in and flop in front of the telly like they used to last summer. Do you think this will be ok, or should I wait a bit longer till it warms up a bit more?

Thanks! :D

I think they'll be fine now it's warmed up outside - it's warmer in my garden than in my living room at the moment.:lol:

Great, thanks! :D More snuggle time for me - I love having them indoors with me (We watch CSI together on the floor....hubby thinks I'm mental!:oops:)
