Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lump on Hind leg possible bruise

mazzy101

New Kit
I took my Rabbit to the Vets two weeks ago to get her Nails clipped
As he tried to pick her up from the carrier she struggled and i think hurt her legs.
Two days later she had a lump on her hind leg and limping slightly . it felt soft so thought it was a bruise
i called the vet for help and they said if it gets bigger bring her in. it seems to have gone down so maybe i will wait a little longer - i hope it is not an absess but she seems to be ok at the moment

How is she walking now? Is she limping or trying to hop, if trying to hop she may just have bruised it like you or I would. If she's eating, drinking and pooping fine and seems happy leave her be, but if you notice anything different please take her to your vet as advised :)

ETA; I just noticed that this happened two weeks ago. That's a long time for her still to be sore, I'd take her in for a check-up to be sure.

Yes she's hopping about ok, and eating pooping drinking fine, her normal self:D
and the lump seems to have gone down a bit - i just felt it
thanx for the input
