Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Found a few spots of blood

Elena

Wise Old Thumper
Hi everyone,

Can you advise me?

I've just gone in the lops room and found a few spots of dried blood on the duvet. It's where Mini normally sits but I can't see any evidence of bleeding on her. She does tend to get one slightly sore hock due to when she dislocated her hip but I've checked that and it looks ok, certainly no open wound or bleeding.

Last time I did Mischa's claws I accidentally clipped one too short and we had quite a bit of bleeding, it's been healing up fine but I've looked at it and it looks like there is a small clot at the end of the nail so I am wondering if possibly he's caught it in the duvet or something.

It's not a lot of blood so I'm not worrying too much just yet. I just need a bit of reassurance.

*cough* I have given it a sniff and I don't think it's dried blood  Those two have been a little dirty the past couple of days so I'm going to cut back on veggies for a bit.

*feels a bit dim*

Oh well, they've had a thorough check today anyway!

I only washed that duvet yesterday  Good job it's a thin one that lives on top of the bed when I am not in it for this sort of occasion.
