water bottles

I've never tried the insulated bottle but I wouldn't bother with the coth bottle cover. If it's that cold, the spout will freeze, so you're stuck anyway. The insulated bottle might be worth a try.

In the winter, I put a big chunk of ice in the hutch at night or a bowl for the buns to lick at, and defrost the bottles in the morning. Someone on here mentioned putting a ball in a water bowl as this stops it freezing over, but my buns were inside by then! During the summer I don't think it's a big deal if the water gets a little warm as long as they have plenty to drink.

I stick a fleecy slipper sock over my bottles, sometimes two, and I've never had a frozen one. And I live in the coldest county in the UK!!! You can get really cheap socks in the likes of Poundland.

I bought two of these

The insulation is good but the bottle inside is ****, there is no balls and it just leaks constantly. So I used the insulation from them but replaced the bottle with one of the "Classic" water bottles you can get anywhere. I need to cut the hole for the spout but I'm a lot happier with it now. Of course it doesn't stop them freezing when it's really really cold, but I think it helps when it's just normal cold.

think this sounds like a good option then. not going to waste money on expensive bottles or covers if they dont work!
