hi guys and gals,

what kind of wood varnish/stain can i use on my hutch that is safe for rabbits?

Pets at Home do tins of hutch stain for about £5 I think. I've also seen "animal friendly" varnishes in B&Q as well, though I can't remember any brand names. Think there is generally a few to choose from though!:wave:

Good for Wood which you get online apparently or the P@H one but it does come out rather dark

Everytime i read this I think it says VANISHING hutch and im :shock: until I read it properly

I use Cuprinol Garden shades but it's more of a paint than a stain.

I use Cuprinol 'Garden Shades or Wilkinson's 'Colour Your Garden' (cheaper and just as good)

Hi,
You need to be careful with what treatments you use.

I contacted all the major manufactors including Cuprinol, and they all stated that their product were plant and animal friendly - but that dosen't include pets! Do not use any treatsment on the inside of hutches/cages.

Animal friendly means only for wild animals only.
