  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Gizmo gummy bunny had post op check up today

Alpha Buck
Just to let you know gizmo went for a check up today after having his teeth removed the other day..... there was good news and bad news

See the thing is I love my bunnies so much when i seen gizmo struggling with hay igave him extra pellets and fruit and veg all cut up small.... but now the vet tells me i have made him over weight  [he weighs 2.85kg] before the op he was 2.3kg:oops::oops: So dieting now.

Also where he had the inpaction on the right side his eye and nose are weepy and crusty so i have eye drops to put in twice daily till thursday then if its no better he has to go back in and have his tearducts flushed under a local anasetic

But on the happy side of things his mouth is looking good and he should continue to make a good recovery. He has to stay in doors living until it warms up a bit but thats no problem. Thanks for all your vibes peeps.... gizmo is doing good :wave::wave::wave::wave::love::love:
