Carriers with wheels for 6kg+ of bunnies!

Jenova

Wise Old Thumper
My bunnies are too heavy for me to carry now and as I take the bus to the vets I need a carrier or stroller, something with four wheels that won't make me look like too much of an idiot. And something bunny teeth can't chew out of!

Does anyone know where I could get something like this without spending too much money?

I've seen:

But it looks like it might fall apart. :? Am I being paranoid?

Teddy's Mummy springs to mind as the person to ask as she has several big buns. I know she used a dog crate (with a rather gorgeous, unrabbit in ) but obviously that would be no good for you walking. There was a thread on it a while ago, if you want to have a read through it :D

;)

I got an Atlas, from recommendations on here.....for my 20+kg of bunny!

I think it was an Atlas 50. It's on wheels, but is still a carrier (a bit like a wheelie suitcase.)

try ebay..its where we got our frenchie mobile:lol:

hmm odd the one i was thinking of getting if ours gets broken has vanished! BUT theres a double decker version of ours. ours comes off the wheels as a carrier and berties 5kg and he used to go with his wifey bof to the vets..i also used it to try and bond my huge frenchie doe..my bridge bun willow and berties wifey bif.....so a 6kg bun...fits well!!

do not get the other types as they collapse..the one we have has a metal very sturdy skeleton frame and i use it in the taxis as a normal carrier..and get it on wheels when i get out..much laughter for a long time..then people went..oh thats a good idea....

I've got an Atlas 40 for my two (combined weight of over 8kg) :)

It's a heavy beast to manouver with both bunnies inside though - especially carrying it down stairs. I make the o/h do it as I'm scared I'll drop it

20 kg bunnies

Ooooh, I did not know these wheely carriers existed! I have to put Jess and Thistle in the same box when I go to the vet with them as I need both hands to carry Thistle's weight (he's 6.7kg and Jess is 2.4kg). They're 9kgs together and the box weighs another 1.5 on it's own. The main vet branch has a car park but the little branch nearest me has a 5 minute walk from the public car park. I have to stop and cross the road at traffic lights and I swear, one day I'm going to drop the box and the rabbits will be in the road.

Thanks everyone. Do you not worry buns will chew through the fabric ones??

I've never had this problem and Vin is a chewer. I put in a couple of towels for her to snuggle up in, some hay and a veggie treat and she's fine. Only mistake I made was leaving it out on the floor so she could get used to it and she promptly chewed through the zip  Luckily only a tiny gap so it still shuts fine, she dosen't chew when inside it. :D
