The vets have just phoned,the abcess had started in his middle ear and burst out through a gap in cartilidge ....Nigel described some very drastic surgery which he could have done but it would have left Bugsy's eardrum exposed ....I can't remember details .....it sounded too much and would have left him in pain with no guarantee that the abcess would be cured and a possibility of meningitis.
The kindest thing was to let him go
