No sign of plums yet :? Pics post28!

Wise Old Thumper
Really starting to think Scamp isnt a he :? He has no sign, and i mean no sign at all of any plums yet

He was vet checked when he was 3/4 weeks old when i had him and the vet confirmed he was a he (id already checked and said i thought he was a he).

Hes been with me around 10 weeks now, which makes him somewhere between 13 -15 weeks old. I know giants are late developers but surely there should be some sort of sign of them :?

I hope he isnt a she  He'd have to be called Scampina

lox is ready now at the same age as uncle mowgli was at 14weeks

however mitzi our first male bunny, whome we were told was female wasn't ready until over a year old

I had to take Oreo to the vets to confirm he was a he 3 times! He didnt get them until 5 months and the minute they appeared they were whipped out  They werent there long!

They will appear eventually - they pull them up as well which Oreo kept doing everytime I took him to the vets

This is what made me think... i saw your post about Locksley having his plums!! I know the giant buns do take longer to develop. Im starting to worry though.

I think hes well enough to be able to go for his myxi jab now, hes coming on leaps and bounds so will book him in next week and will get the vet to check again :) xXx

I hope Scamp gets his plums before hes a year old!!!:lol: Poor Mitzi! xXx

Be careful, remember when we thought Preston was Precious, i.e a girl, oh the shameee when i saw those plums!

Upate :?

Just got back from the vets, even the vet was confused about Scamps sex :? Hes a bunny specialist and has never had problems sexing a rabbit before, it normally only takes him a few seconds. It looks as if he has a willy, but then it does push out very far :? So hes either a male, not very well endowned and not at all mature yet, or hes a female

My poor baby

He also has slight spurs on his lower molars both sides of his mouth :( The vet was very pleased with how hes coming along and he was well enough to have his myxi jab! :D xXx

oh dear a confuzzled bunny wabbit, my first ever mini lop mitzi was also like that, he decided to get his bits at just over a year old

glad his myxi jab went well

Awww, glad Scamp (Scampina?) was well enough for the myxi vacc :D

Any chance the spurs can be got rid of through lots of hay chomping, or is he gonna need a dental soon?

hope chomping can rid the spurs, what pellets is he on? the burgess pellets and hay did wonders for mowgli's spurs and malloclusion

Confused - it does or doesnt push out very far?

Didnt mention if he could be pseudohermaphrodite? Would need to see pics to know either way  but also required exploratory surgery for a proper neuter.

Might be like Liz's Maddox and just had a rough start and not grown well, so *ahem* taking their time to descend? but then you would think the rest of his genitalia would be normal ay?

Poor Scamp! has he reached his target weight for his age yet? I shouldnt worry just yet - unless he shows gender specific or maturational behaviours he's probably just a slow developer.

Sorry, i did mean doesnt, it doesnt push out far :lol: I had to rush to type that earlier as i still had the little one!

He didnt mention about him being that no :? He was just as confused as i was though :?

He was 1.75kg! Hes certainly growing though now, his ears have grown again and his back bone isnt so prominent.

I feel bad calling him a he now when he could possibly be a she :?

As for the feeding, he gets 2 closed handfuls of junior SS pellets a day, a spring green leaf of an evening and then hay  Hes an awful hay eater, the only thing i can get him to eat is the excel herbage and to me the quality of that is useless :? Richard said he really needs to get down to less than a handful of pellets a day and lots more hay/veg.

I have a feeling hes going to be an expensive bunny, but he surelyis worth every penny  Will attempt to get pictures of his bits so you and Jane can have a look Vikki  xXx

The vet didnt hold out much hope for the hay chomping to work :? He said the shape of his back teeth seem wrong? He did show me but i didnt really know what i was looking at to be honest  Richard said to leave the VHD for 3/4 weeks and he will check the teeth again then (and the bits too! ) xXx
