Is Timothy hay too soft for dental buns?

Feegal doesn't need a dental, its been over two months now.

Before he was having them every two to three weeks.

The only thing I can think of that has changed is I stopped giving them Timothy hay as it was so expensive and brought a bale of farm hay. Could this be a factor:?

I would have asked at the vets but I didn't think of it till just now:roll:
