Bristol Referral Service: Anyone Used It?

parsnipbun

Wise Old Thumper
Damson had another of his acute pain episodes today - despite having been 6 weeks on abx to cure the possible cause (kidney infection).

TBH we were never totally convinced that that was what was causing these - but the vet said best treat for the infection as it showed up - and then having treated we could discount it.

Anyway - having more or less discounted it - the vets at our practice now feel that perhaps we should try the referral specialist service. Both our vets are pretty much rabbit specialists themselves - but obviously not as much as the referrals who see much more complicated and rare things. Having been scanned, x-rayed and blood and urine tested we are all running out of ideas here.

So . . I wondered if anyone had used Bristol and Sharon Redrobe?

What was it like?

and what did it cost (Damson of course is one of our two buns that are NOT insured:roll::roll: as he was too old when we took out insurance!).

Hi, we recently referred one of my rabbits to langford as we didnt know what was going on and they have been brilliant, my previous rabbit was also treated by them and i have not a bad word to say about them. Havent seen Sharon, we saw 2 vets Ian and Richard and they were fantastic!!

My vet used them when I had problems with Angel's breathing .....they were very good and she was in awe of them....said it was liking speaking to the bunny god!

I went there with Yoshi and saw Richard who was absolutely brilliant ever so sympathetic he even sent me a card when he had heard Yoshi & Biski had passed. My own vet never even sent me a card.

He even telephoned me when I sent an email about any hereditry problems that Fudge might have ( he's Yoshi's half brother), touch wood he hasn't so far

Definately Recommend, even though it was too late for yoshi

We were referred there. I am insured. I think without them, Daisy would not have had the 18 months extra she had. I have sent you a pm

I have been there,Barley was under the care of Sandra Wenger, she has left now.My first visit was £500 as they had to carry out a lot of tests.Barley went there most Wednesdays and we would spend a good two hours being seen by the top vets in their specialised fields as they had never seen this condition before.
They have some brilliant bunny vets there that will help you get to the bottom of Damsons problems
