Sponsor Bunny Advice

Young Bun
Hiya fellow bunny lovers,

I have rescued a giant continental bunny and sadly he has serious dental issues. He needs a dental under general aneasthetic every 4-6 weeks. This means we cannot rehome him and we are struggling to pay for this care as it is £150-£180 every 4-6 weeks.

Can some one point in the direction of the right place on the forum to post for sponsors for him please?

Thanks very much

What area are you in?? Maybe someone could advise of a local vet who does concious dentals :)

You could post for sponsors is the fundraising section of the forum :) xXx

thats very expensive for a dental ..

our vet charges between £60 ans £100 . ..i know lots of people pay less than that ..

could you not try other vets too ..

This vet is an exotic specialist. It is a very well respected and highly thought of exotic vet. Also they need loads of meds and anaesthetic as he is 6.8kg! That's why it costs so much. Plus he needs overnight boarding as he reacts badly to the drugs!

He absolutely hates being touched near his mouth, he is impossible to hold still so I don't think they would be able to do a consious dental, that's why he has to be put under. It takes 2 of us just to give him some meds we have to tip him over to get a little relaxed.

Thanks everyone. I will post an thread in the fundraising section.

I am in Manchester by the way.

I take it you have taken your giant to AshLea Vets. The price of that dental you have been quoted is ridiculous. my vet only charges £60 to £80 and they don't charge extra for Giants as I have 24 of. If you decide you cannot afford to keep up with the vets bills and need to rehome him then I will take him.
I have rabbits bigger than 6.8kg and my vets don't charge extra for anything because it is a giant. If you want my vets details then I am more than happy to give them you as she is an excellent rabbit vet and she is based in Walkden, Manchester
