  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

just put flea treatment on my rabbit

I would try to divert his attention from licking it off, i dont know what harm it could do, but it also wont do your bun getting treated any good, as he wont get the benefit of it!

its the other bun i have got she is grooming him where the treatment was put, is it ok for them to go together tonight or do i have to seperate them

What is the treatment you have put on?

I wouldn't separate a bonded pair overnight, could end in tears!!!

It's in a small white pippete tube labbelled "Ivermectin 450mcg", the label the vet put on the bag says "Xeno 450 Spot On"

It should dry in within an hour or two.

If you can try to stop your other bun licking it off then it would be best, but when i treated my two with it they licked each other a bit.

A small amount of licking should be fine.

Xeno doesn't treat for fleas. If your rabbit has fleas you will need a different treatment...'Advantage' is recommended for fleas
