Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Weeing & bathing back end U/D Post 3

Radish seems to have started peeing everywhere in her cage rather than the litter tray. She is also peeing outside her cage but not to the same extent.

I will be taking her to the vets on tuesday as she is also thumping alot which I believe to be her hormones but I feel the weeing thing needs checking out. Could it be a uti?

Also because she has peed on her plastic house and then sat in it she has a smelly back end but it isn't wet. I want to bathe her back end to keep her clean but would like some tips on how to do this as she can be quite grumpy and difficult to hold.

Thanks

p.s. She is being spayed on 15th January.

Just to update on this that yesterday and today radish seems to be back to her normal litterbox habits and behaviour.

I bathed her yesterday and she is now all clean.

I am beginning to think this was a hormonal episode as it was accompanied by a big change in behaviour including honking and feet circling.

I will be calling the vets tomorrow to try to bring her spay forward to as soon as possible.
