Thank you. Had just a shed fairly flimsy run and decided they could do with something a bit sturdier. Looked at a few hutches and runs and realised that my kennel was about the same price so went for that instead.

Here's my kennel where Flora and Parsnip live. The overall size is 9ft by 5ft with another 6ft by 3ft run attached afterwards.

Inside the 'shed' end which is 5ft by 4ft with a flap in the box leading to the 6x3 run.

And this is the 6x3 run attached to the other end of the shed, via the flap.

Thats brilliant! Did you actualy put a cat flap on? Ive thought about that but not sure how easy the buns would pick up using one if at all?

Can i ask, why do you have a blind on outside of kennel run?

Can i ask, why do you have a blind on outside of kennel run?

Ha ha! The blind is not actually used any more. When I first had the kennel made it looked like this:-

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk224/smacknish/25042008222-2.jpg

So as you can see, it was open to the elements aside from a large boxed-in bed area under the shelf. I copied the design from one I'd seen on ebay. However, it was a BIG mistake. It was a nightmare to clean - I kept bashing my head on the shelf, plus I felt it didn't offer enough protection from the elements if the wind blew in a northerly direction. So I added the blind so that I could pull it down and stop the rain blowing in.

However, I eventually decided to redesign the whole thing by taking the end panel off and moving it up to where the inner shelf was, thus creating a totally enclosed 'shed' at one end. I then made a new mesh door (all by myself :D) and re-wired the end panels to create the 'run' end. There's a flap through from the paved run into the shed via the 'room with a view' - I just left one panel off it so that the underneath compartment is open on one side. It works SO much better and now looks like this:-

I didn't actually install a cat flap. My OH made a hole about 8 inches square with a little door to close it off if need be. The box on the inside of the shed creates both a shelf for the bunnies to sit on and a 'dog leg' design to stop the wind blowing straight into the shed. The bunnies love to sit in the box looking out into the run - especially in this very cold weather. It's carpeted on the inside  The lid of the box comes off so that they can't hide from me when it's time to go to the vet ;)

Blimey your clever doing all that! Thats an amazing transformation, well done. Do you leave the door open all the time so they have constant access to the run?

Mine hasnt a door to bedding part, ive fleece lined the cabin and made a fleece flap door. I worry the front mesh isnt covered up and perhaps it should be in this weather?

You could get a 6ft or 7ft kennel and run then. My garden isnt very big and I use a dog pen gating barrier to make external run, they never jump it.

I'd never be allowed. :( I live with my parents and we have a shed and a garage at the back of the garden and then a small path in front and then a patch of grass. A kennel just wouldn't look right in our garden. x

Aww thats a shame. Mind you they got good space now :)

I love the fact you can walk into there home and clean it, rather than bending down and leaning in. Mind you it is back breaking also as you cant stand straight lol.

I'll get some newer pics of mine tomorrow :)
I love my kennel - we are 'planning' on asking my dad to get electricity to the kennel, so they can have a light and a heater.
I also mentioned the posibility or them having a TV

No, the door is usually closed unless it's very hot weather. There are two flaps - one from the shed into the main paved run and a second from the shed into the added 6x3 run. The buns have 24/7 access to both.

This is mine from a little while back. Alfie and Bubbles love the little hideout box in the corner - they rarely go in it but perch on top.:lol:

I don't have pics of the shed part but I keep changing my mind about what to do with it. :?

I had a little 3ft hutch in there, but it takes up a lot of room and is quite hard to clean - they don't seem to shelter in it but just use it as one big toilet (oh, and chew all the wood from the back I noticed when I removed it at the weekend  ).

I'm thinking of putting either a shelf in, at just the right height so they can jump onto it or sit underneath or getting another of the hideout box thingies for in there.
