He looks like he is dying and is far worse than before we took him in.

I have given him some metacam as they hadnt given him anything.

I have called:

Cant help with a vet or anything but sending loads of vibes for him.....I think I'd be complaining about the vet hes just been collected from too!

if he hasn't eaten for so long he will need sub cut fluids to help him
You need to get him to a vet ASAP..look online for other vets in your area
Insist he has the correct treatment
You need to keep him warm and somewhere quiet until he gets to a vet

and yes when you are up to it complain to the vet who doesn't even know if he has eaten , drunk or poo'd..disgusting..and if you haven't paid their bill yet..DON'T

lots of vibes for bunster xxx
adding..did he swallow the metacam easily? if so mash up some of his normal pelleet food with warm water and offer him that in a syringe..you may have to cut end off syrine to use..and be careful if you do not to push rubber bit in his mouth..don't force water or food in him as he could choke..but if he took the med he may take some fluid and feed

Desmond has EC

Hi everyone,

Lolas & Desmond's daddy here...just thought I'd give you an update...

We managed to get him (and her to keep him company) to a specialist vets in Swindon called Great Western Referrals.

They normally only take referrals from vets, but I can't thank them enough for taking him in after a phone call from us. He's had x-rays on his leg (was lame for the last few days, we thought it was improving - our local vets checked it out too), full blood tests and they tried to get him eating / pooing.

Turns out he's got EC, probably from Lola (who may have had this for some time, but had managed to fight it - she had strange urine burn caused by urine of a similar colour like this about a year ago, diagnosed by the vets as an allergy to antibiotics). So they're both now being treated for it.
He's going into renal failure, hence the thicker orange-like urine. He's hospitalised, they've got him down as a critical patient. They thought they almost lost him 2-3 hours ago, but he's since rallied a little and eat and pooed small amounts. I think they're trying to get his renal values down, or hoping they go down. I don't know if they can do dialysis for this kind of thing as a temporary measure whilst the anti-EC medicine takes effect?

He's not tipping his head because of the EC. I don't know is this is a good thing or not.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for them both. Be devasted if we lost them :(

Thanks for the vibes, and thanks very much for the help finding a specialist vets. Couldn't have done it without you. We both really REALLY appreciate it.

Will keep you posted on our little man's progress.
