Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Since Marsha died I can move Ryo into Charmin's room, because there is more space there now.

Will Ryo be okay? She is used to being in the house, but a cool part of the house. I am wanting to move her to my front room, that is basically a nice screened in porch. It is not heated but is never below freezing.

Do I just move her in there, and make sure she has lots of warm things to nest in? or is there a certain process that I should do to get her used to the cooler temps.

Can I buy a heat lamp to help heat the room?

Can you not check the temps in both rooms?? I wouldnt move her if its a drastic change... like indoors where theres been heating on, to an unheated outer room.

Hopefully she will be ok :) Lots of hay and a snugglesafe heatpad :)

Hi Friends,
I have a lovely lop called Mr Ching and he lives in the house. We have been battling with an abscess for almost a year. Firstly he had it cleaned out and was on injections for weeks. Then he had it removed but some of it was so deep where his back leg is that they had to leave it. We continued with cyrstopen injections for some months and when his back began to scar we decided to take him off injections. He then had a period of nothing at all but the abscess started to enlarge again. He has been on Baytril for three weeks but it isnt halting the growth of the abscess. My vet said he should be able to have something called Septrin but she can't seem to find the correct dosage. I have been pushing her for a week now with no result. I am getting pretty desperate as he can't go on much longer at the rate the abscess is growing. Does anyone know the dosage of Septrin for a 2.5kilo rabbit.
