Spaying one of a bonded pair

panbunny

New Kit
Pancake, our 7 month old spayed mini-lop doe and Doenut, our 4 1/2 month old unspayed mini-lop doe are happily bonded and living together. (We got Doenut shortly after Pancake recovered from her spay a few months ago)

It's getting closer to the time where we'll need to take Doenut in for her spay, would it be best to take Pancake to the vets with her and keep them together during the recovery process?

They're a very gentle pair, and aside from a few little chasing episodes a few weeks ago there have been no problems at all, so I'd love to keep the bond intact while Doenut recovers from her spay if that's possible! That said I'm a little worried Pancake won't leave Doenut alone to let her recover, she's always grooming her!

Does anyone have any advice or past experiences with a similar situation?

A pic of the pair :D

Yes definately keep them together. Check with your vet first that they will allow it though, some might not, especially if they don't have someone on sigh 24/7. But you want a vet that has a nurse on site at all times anyway if they have to stay in overnight.
