Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

coat question

tickles

Mama Doe
Some of my buns dont seem to have a thick winter coat and i wondered if there is any reason for this or if there was anything i could give them to make it thicker.
We currently feed wagg optimum which im thinking of changing to science selective again to see if there is an improvementx

Are they indoor or outdoor buns?

Also how old, if they are babies and only just gone outside they may not have had time to develop their full winter coat.

I should imagine they aren't feeling the cold yet? It's been quite mild, if you stay out of the wind/rain:roll::lol:

Unless they are old:? My old horse takes forever to grow a winter coat - he's double rugged already - & we had to feed a salt-based supplement:D

I wouldn't reccomend SS over winter, I changed recently and my buns are getting thinner. I know your talking about their fur, but body fat helps keep them warm too. I tend to increase food over winter and add in a bit of the meusli type mix.

:? I find this strange, SS is one of the best foods out there. My buns were all on a different pellet (A+P) and they lost weight rapidly. I changed to SS this spring and all are doing fine

Hopefully their coat will come soon Tina  Do you have snugglesafes? xXx

i have some snugglesafes:} going to change food gradually over the next few days.Increase hay and indroduce straw aswell x
