Told off!!

RubyTed

Wise Old Thumper
:oops::oops::oops::oops:...I've just been told off! I called my vet about Ruby, and they told me I'm not allowed to have Roobs registered at more than one vets.

I explained the situation (having to take her when Ted attacked her) and that I didn't trust them with rabbits so had no desire to take them there....but I still feel like a naughty little girl! :oops:

I'm quite sure that you can have an animal registered with more than one veterinary practice.

i've got my dogs registered at 2! and i've taken them to both for vaccinations etc, but i go to my 'preferred' one with any problems! :roll:

How do they know if your registered with more than one vet? :lol:

I told them...:oops:!!

I think they were only worried that I'd end up with a double prescription, and understood that I don't like the other vet (when I named it the receptionist sounded like she wasn't impressed with them!)

I just feel really guilty..:oops::oops::oops:

My bunnies are registered at three. A rabbit savvy vet in Manchester, a rabbit savvy vet in Dewsbury and a normal vet in Heckmondwike!:wave:

I was going to go for this other vet for jabs, but seeing as they don't have an idea about buns (well the person I saw with Roobs, and the person over the phone....told me that if I took her in they'd put her on abx straight away....IT'S STRESS!!) I don't think I will. They're far cheaper, so I might see (or I'll tell my wonderful Vets the price and see if they'll do a discount!)

Out of interest, am I legally obliged to use just one vets, and if I used a different one for jabs, then could the really good ones refuse to treat the buns if they wanted to?

Oooh, do you know how much they charge for vaccinations and neutering/spaying ? :)

Vaccs no as I get them done in Manchester but speying is quite steep at £95.00 and neutering £72 :shock:, it's expensive. But full check-up & consultation is only £20.00 :wave:.

To be honest if you want a bunny neutered Sage vetinary group is fab. :wave: I've had 2 male neuters there , a female bunny spey and a female cat spey and all have been done perfectly, with zero issues. :wave:

They charge £46.00 for castration and £68.51 for a spey.:lol:, though you'll have to request metacam, they're a normal vet.

Cool, I've just been looking round to save money in the futre :lol: One vets round here wanted £190 to spay a large rabbit :shock:

Haha Ali, you should have heard the phonecall I had before I found my rabbit savvy vet in Manchester. :shock:. I rang a vet and the receptionist answered, so I asked if they had a rabbit specialist. She said no but asked if she could help and I explained my bunny had sore hocks. Then she said.. 'so what's wrong with her hocks' and I just gave up ' They're sore':shock: and then I hung up. Haha can you imagine me going to that vet! :lol:
