Comfrey is off for another dental!! UD Post 10

Wise Old Thumper
After his 'failed' dental 2 weeks ago and all the problems since poor old `Comfrey is off for another dental tomorrow (Weds) so lets all wish him lots and lots and lots of VIBES and LUCK and hope that all goes well - poor little soul.

Took Comfrey to vet again tonight and insisted they look again at his mouth as he is still making chewing movements with his mouth and still won't eat hard stuff.

The very very thorough vet (I choose my vets according to needs - I have a 'throw everything medicinal at it and be very thorough' vet', a 'quick check up and basic op. in an emergency vet', and a 'knowledgeable and chatty and friendly in for the longer term but not so keen on intervention straight away' vet!! all at the same place!!).
The thorough vet looked in his mouth again - poor soul must be getting a mouth complex - and found he had some gum discharge and a pale gum area now and some sharp teeth again front and rear even though he supposedly had it all done only 10 days ago.

He is now booked in for another dental next week - I strongly suspect that the last dental (done by vet no.2 on my list) just wasn't thorough enough in first place - although not helped by the fact that he hasn't eaten solids since it was done..

Poor Comfrey!!!:(:(

Yes the very very thorough vet is doing it this time!! She is a miracle surgeon (did Willows Gut obstruction and removed some of the screws in Parsleys leg plate) so we have every confidence. She has never done his teeth before (he has always ended up needing them done when she is away) so he should be a much happier bun afterwards. PS No insurance as he came to us as a 'dental bun' so dentals are excluded on his policy. Although I am trying to claim for the stomach problems last week caused by the Septrin which he reacted to.

He's back again :D:D:D teeth nicely trimmed.

BUT he apparently has pus around one of his molars and she is worried about him abcessing -

however after what happened last time with the abx reaction we are now waiting for him to start eating again after the tooth op before trying some Baytril for it.

At present he's still looking stunned - I think he was quite late in the operating day so only came round a couple of hours ago.

Has eaten half a saucer of grated apple on his own (OK so I know thats not brilliant for him because its sweet for his tum - but he has had a syringe feed of pellets so he's not empty) but no carrot or soaked pellets. Hopefully he will start eating soon. I could not bear it if he went like he did 2 weeks ago.

Fingers crossed for this eve!
