are needed please as we havnt owned a bunny before:oops:.
He is an outside bunny, we have a dog that likes her garden. All the bunny has got at the moment is a normal hutch on legs,so its off the ground but it is big enough to house 2 bunnies, he has no run etc.

Hello,
You really need to give the bun outdoor space too.
He should have a hutch at least 6ft x 2ft space, with a run attached at approx. 6ft x 6ft.
Your bun really needs exercise and a run will provide this.

If you have foxes in your area, youll need to make sure your equipment is foxproof, as dont want bunny getting taken

Good luck

Have a look at other peoples set-ups in the housing section.
These range from hutches (min 6ft x 2ft x 2ft) with attached run. Converted shed and playhouses with catflaps and runs attached. The biggar the better, lots of interesting toys to keep your rabbits emotionally and physically stimulated too. Other peoples pictures may give you better ideas and inspiration. Good luck with your project, and post some pictures once you've fininshed your new bunster house.
Here's a pic of our set-up we finished a few weeks back. Although we have already changed it alittle by adding an extra 6ft run to this too.

Do you have space for a shed? You may be able to find one quite cheaply second-hand. If so, you could cut a hole for a catflap and attach a run to it, so your rabbit has 24hr outside access, but your dog can't get to your bunny. What type of dog do you have - could you train him/her to ignore your bunny so that s/he doesn't keep barking at your bunny or running alongside the run?

Also, bunnies crave the company of other rabbits. Please consider getting your bunny a friend; a rescue would have ones that are already neutered and would help you with the bonding process.

How big is your hutch? I bought a 5ft hutch only to realise that it was way too small and ended up getting a second-hand 6ft x 4fft shed. I put them in a 15ft run during the day.
