  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

side affects to myxi jab?? urgent??

sam and nala

Alpha Buck
nala had her myxi booster today now she is refusing to put weight onto her right hind leg and is laying funny/sitting funny looking uncomfortable

is this a side affect or should i get her to vets incase she has hurt her leg?

neither of my buns had any side effects after there jab, maybe she has hurt herself..... sorry i am of no help to you..

Even if it is a side effect, it could be effecting the nervous system or muscles, so i'd go to the vets asap personally.

I've never heard of the myxi jab causing any kind of limp.

Was there a struggle to catch her and take her to the vet or whilst you were at the vet?

It sounds like one of those things where you just have to make a judgement call on whether it seems serious or not. I presume she is eating and pooing fine?

shes still like sitting with her bum on the floor and leg up to the air.....as if shes going to scratch her ear but like not...if ya understand me :? im verry confused shes hopping on it but kicking out as shes hopping is this a sign of pain?

ive rang the vets....i couldnt speak to my vet he was doing an op:roll: so got put onto a woman ive never met b4

i explained all.....she thinks nala is trying to scratch where the injection went but dosent want to cos its sore:? and to watch her for the next 24hrs then take her in if she has not stopped:?

so i said

shes just putting her foot in the air and holding it there and she said just keep an eye on her

i hate not speaking to my vet!! and apparently hes in surgery all day cos this is their surgery day :(

so even if i went in id be speaking to that woman who is terrable with bunnies and smaller pets
