  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Advice please

Young Bun
After Pip and Ben really strating to bond, they've had a fight this morn and although now back to snuggling. Ive checked them over and Ben has a big cut o his ear (he is a lop) so big that it has actually gone right through and he has a hole.
It looks fairly clean but I am worried and think I should take him to the vet. Should I take the both, to help with the bond and keep them together. Or should I take this as a sign that they should be seperated.:(

No expert at all but ..
I have read on some messages that a car ride together can help bonding.
Maybe a check over by the vet and a car ride would be good for them both?

Good luck with it :)

I would say yes to both. A vet should check him over and he will possibly need some pain relief and antibiotics just in case of infection, and a car ride for the two of them usually helps as they look to each other for comfort. Good luck, hope everythings ok x
