metacam by injection: oral equivalent??

Damson ( who has a bout of not eating probably brought on by a pain somewhere - but we know not where) has been given 0.8 metacm by injection (he weighs 1.9k).

Does anyone know what this is as an equivalent as oral so I can work out how many mgs per kg he has had? ( I am contemplating giving some more orally as he still seems to be in some pain somewhere - he has had syringe feeds and subcuts and has eaten about 2 cupfuls of weeds but still has a furrowed brow).

I was thinking the same thing, Sorrell and Treacle were given some today and Sorrell got 0.09mls, Treacle got 0.13 mls.

Its been a VERY long day (comfrey's emergency dental - car to garage after being damaged - damsons ileus - mad taxi driver etc etc etc).

That's a relief, sorry can't help you with the oral equivalent, I'm giving Sorrell and Treacle injections of metacam, metochlop and oral fibreplex for the next couple of days, unless they don't perk up.
 
for stasis Alvin gets prescribed 0.3ml per day of the dog stuff. i worked it out as a dosage of 0.2mg/kg

he got 0.1ml by injection but i dont know what strength they use :? and he weighed 2.25kg at the time

just looked it up on the net. i think vets must use the 5mg/ml solution which is about 3x stronger than the dog metacam and would explain why alvins injection is 3x lower than orally :D

Was told to give Lola 0.3ml per day of the dog stuff orally, so agree with donnamt.

Lola is about 1.75kg.
